Director's Coffee, March 25 - now scheduled for April 1: 08.45, Community Room
Topic: This Season of Transitions

'Tis the season when many AAS community members find themselves entering what has been described by Barbara Schaetti as the LEAVING phase of the transition process. It’s the time when you discover that your Moscow stay of one to ten years or more is ending and it’s time to begin the transition from a place where you have a sense of belonging to a place where schools, homes and friends are all uncertainties. It’s time to build the RAFT … Reconciling conflict with others; Affirming relationships; Farewell to people, places, pets and possessions; and, Thinking ahead.

During the Director’s Coffee on April 1, four books written by expat expert Robin Pascoe* which offer support to expat families, will be reviewed. If interested in purchasing the books, Raising Global Nomads, Homeward Bound, A Moveable Marriage and A Broad Abroad, they will be available for sale either as a set or individually.

Great appreciation goes to author, Robin Pascoe, who donated copies of her books in honor of our 60th anniversary and international relocation company, Interdean Relocation, for providing shipment of these books to AAS. --------------- *Robin Pascoe has been writing and publishing books and articles and a website in support of expatriate families for almost twenty years. She has lectured in over thirty countries at international schools and groups, to women's clubs and other expatriate community organizations. Robin recently conducted an extensive survey of family challenges during transition, the results published in a document entitled "Family Matters." She gives 'webinars' on the results of this survey to global mobility specialists or any other groups interested in the mobile family.
