We hope this newsletter finds you happy and healthy. As we come close to the end of week 5 of distance learning, many students are finding this to be crunch time with regards to assignments. We appreciate your partnership as we continue to work hard to ensure that the student’s assessed work is on time and of the best quality.

Independent Learning Extensions: We are on track to have our curated set of Independent Learning Extensions ready for next Monday. Access will be password protected and available on our website. As parents, you will receive a direct email with the password. Next week, teachers will be able to talk students through any questions they might have.
Canadian Media: Being back in Canada has had me engaging with Canadian Media more than ever. When I saw the title, “Help I’ve got kids, what do I do? Tips for parents working from home.”, I knew I had to share with the MS community.
Gratitude: Thank you to all of the parents who have continued to reach out and show support. Every day we are learning more and more and your partnership reinforces that this is the best community you could ask for.
Have a great week!

HS Associate Principal, Matthew Groves email@example.com
Preserving and fostering a positive school culture has been a priority since the start of distance learning. Whether it is our weekly videos, AAS connects, or a google meet, the teachers, students, and administrators are working hard to spread the love we have for AAS. One unique event that I was fortunate enough to be a part of was the National Honor Society induction, which took place last week. 20 students were inducted into NHS in a beautiful ceremony. I was so proud of the student leaders who organized the event with Ms. Will, which included the traditional lighting of the candles and an oath swearing by the inductees. Congratulations to all of the new NHS members!
Grade 9 and 10 Students will receive an email from the HS office soon regarding their course selections for next year. Please review the course catalog with your children and encourage them to sign-up as soon as possible so we can build the schedule for next year. Modern high school education choices can be complicated, so please reach out to your counselor and Mr. Sonderman if you have questions.
Independent Learning Extensions for grades 9, 10, and 11 will be finalized this week and sent to parents and students next week. Academic departments have worked hard to curate a robust and exciting curriculum for students to pursue after May 1st. Stay tuned for more information.
