PTO President's Welcome

Dear AAS Community,

On behalf of the Parents Teacher Organization, a warm welcome to all our new and returning families.

All parents with a child currently enrolled at AAS and AAS faculty are automatically members of the PTO at AAS.

Our parent volunteers are proud to work very closely with the school’s leadership team to support the vibrant, engaged and healthy school community that AAS of Moscow is well known for.

We are also partners of the environmentally responsible initiatives implemented by the school’s Eco-Green Committee, as well as, proud supporters of the Visiting Artists’ program.

PTO is always striving to be the place where families find support during transitions that are often part of international school life.

Several of our annual events are aimed at providing support and help you experience a new culture while making lifelong friends.

Our first upcoming event to welcome new families is the Newcomers’ coffee on Monday, August 27 at the fantastic Conservatory rooftop lounge at the Park Hyatt, Moscow.

The Newcomers’ coffee will be followed by a series of Monday morning information seminars, in the community room at AAS. Hope all our new families will be able to join us for these informational sessions designed to get them well acquainted with the school and Moscow.

In conjunction with the AAS, the PTO will host one of our most significant community events on Saturday, September 8.  The AAS Charity Fun Run, in support of Nastenka Charitable Foundation, includes the PTO Family BBQ and the celebration cake for the community. This year, our community will unite to help Ibrahim, a 9-year-old boy who needs 2.5 million rubles for his leukemia treatment. You can help by attending or volunteering at the event, buying a Fun Run t-shirt or supporting via the donation box which will be set up in the Hall of Flags.

All the PTO events support the school's Mission by bringing our community together, celebrating teaching and learning, organizing social events for the students, providing essential services to families and finally raising funds to enhance student learning. All events are managed by our energetic and dedicated team of parent volunteers. So if you are a new parent who wants to make new friends or a returning parent looking for opportunities to get involved with your child's learning, we truly believe that volunteering with the PTO will be a fulfilling experience. We always need volunteers so just “raise your hand” at our next PTO meeting, or send an email to PTO@aas.ru, or just come and talk to any of the PTO officers.  We would be delighted to connect your skills and interests with the right opportunity for you to contribute and engage with our wonderful community. Please come and join usWe are excited to start the new school year together and let us make this a memorable one.

Sincerely,

Rupa Bhattasali
