About Us
From 1949 until 2021 AAS Moscow was an international school chartered by the American, British, and Canadian Embassies in Moscow through the aegis of a School Board. In 2021, AAS Moscow transitioned its status to become a non-profit educational institution registered in Russia. The director of the school, along with the principals of the elementary school, middle school, and high school, manage the day-to-day operation.
AAS Moscow, founded in 1949, is an independent, coeducational day school in northwest Moscow that offers an international educational program from pre-Kindergarten (4-year-olds) through grade 12. Families from over 30 countries have students attend AAS, including many Diplomatic Missions and International Business Leaders. Class sizes typically range from 8-16 students. Our faculty consists of internationally qualified and experienced educators from over 20 countries.
AAS is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the International Baccalaureate Organization. Accreditation demonstrates the high-quality education offered at AAS exceeds the high standards set out by these institutions, preparing our students to excel in their further education at schools and universities worldwide. In addition, AAS is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, and the Central and Eastern European Schools Association.
