About Us
From 1949 until 2021 the Anglo-American School of Moscow was chartered by the American, British, and Canadian Embassies in Moscow through the aegis of a School Board. In 2021, AAS Moscow transitioned its status to become a non-profit educational institution registered in Russia. The director of the school, along with the principals of the elementary school, middle school, and high school, manage the day-to-day operation.
The Anglo-American School of Moscow, founded in 1949, is an independent, coeducational day school in northwest Moscow that offers an international educational program from pre-Kindergarten (4-year-olds) through grade 12. The international student body of approximately 1200 students represents over 60 countries. Class sizes typically range from 12-18 students. Our faculty consists of 150 qualified and experienced educators and 13 administrators, principally from the US, UK, and Canada.
AAS is fully accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the International Baccalaureate Organization. Accreditation demonstrates the high-quality education offered at AAS exceeds the high standards set out by these institutions, preparing our students to excel in their further education at schools and universities worldwide. In addition, AAS is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, and the Central and Eastern European Schools Association.
