AAS has a rolling admissions process, meaning that your child can start school as soon as they are admitted.

Many families choose to transition their child at the end of the school year. In this case, we recommend you submit your application in January/February in order to join us for the start of the next academic year in August. 

If you are planning to join AAS during the course of the academic year, please submit your application as soon as possible. Please read our explanation of the application process.

Providing there are spaces in the relevant grade, you can join at any point during the academic year. However, High School students may find it preferable to move at the Quarter/Semester breaks to ensure that they are given credit for any partial courses they have attended at previous schools.

AAS is a fee-paying school. This applies to all students, irrespective of citizenship. Fees will depend on the grade level, the time of year you enroll, and whether or not your child requires any additional support programs, such as English language, or other learning support. Please contact the admissions department for specific information.

AAS Moscow is a not for profit international IB school which means that all of the tuition and fees collected are reinvested back into the school. There are no shareholders, and our School Board are volunteers from the diplomatic and business communities, many of them are accomplished leaders in their fields and parents at our school.

AAS has a limited learning resource program, so it is very important that you contact us as soon as possible, giving full details of the levels of support your child is currently receiving. This way, we can assess whether or not we have a program that will meet your child’s needs. Please send us as much information as possible (such as current report cards, Individual Education Plans, standardized testing results, and Educational Psychologist reports) so that our Student Services Team can give you an informed decision.

No. In our Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten classes, we observe our 1st September cut-off date strictly.

The Anglo-American School follows the US / Canada class numbering system.

*Please note: AAS no longer has a Pre-K 3 program. The Pre-K 3 pilot program that ran during the 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 school years has ended.

When students transfer to us from a country where the academic year runs from January – December, our policy is to place them in the grade just completed.  However, if the Principal deems it appropriate, he may decide to administer assessment tests in the core subject areas, to see if the student is ready for promotion to the grade level above.

AAS was founded by the Embassies of Canada, the UK and the US and children of diplomatically accredited employees of these three embassies are given admissions priority with our school. We will hold places for you in the relevant grades, but you do need to complete the admissions process in the same way as every other applicant. Please contact us as soon as you know that you will be moving to Moscow.

No. While it is always preferable if you can send us a complete set of application documents immediately, you may send us your passport copies or the health documentation at a later date if you do not have them to hand now.
