The PTO holds monthly coffees.They are a great source of information and community contacts. Some of the topics typically covered during monthly coffees are:

• Director and school leadership updates,
• Student learning stories and,
• Community news and presentations. 

We hope that by learning more about the PTO you are inspired to become an active PTO member. If you would like to become more involved by volunteering on a regular basis or even just for an hour a week or for a single event, we would love to have your help. We could not do it all without the help of our volunteers.

• Our monthly coffees generally take place on the third Tuesday of each month.
• Our monthly coffees, ordinarily, take place in the South Cafeteria at 8:45 but due to COVID will be held virtually at 10:00 via Webex at https://aas.webex.com/meet/pto
• There is no need to sign up - please just show up to find out what the PTO is doing and how you can get involved.

The PTO supports the excellent work that our students do to "contribute as globally-aware citizens" by supporting various local and international charities.

We have created a 1:1 matching fund to support the charitable fundraising done by any student group to benefit one of the many charities supported by our AAS community.

The PTO Enhancement Grant Program is an important way the PTO contributes to the AAS Community. Each year we have fall and spring Enhancement Grant application rounds.  Any community member (student, teacher, parent, or staff) is invited to submit ideas for projects that will enhance the learning experience at AAS.  Enhancement Grants can fund innovations or existing programs, purchase equipment for classrooms or activities, or sponsor visits by expert guests who bring a new dimension to learning.   

To be eligible for consideration, projects should:

1. Enhance the learning experience,
2. Be consistent with AAS goals and philosophy,
3. Be practical and feasible, and
4. Not be covered by the school’s budget.

All submitted proposals are reviewed by the AAS administration to ensure alignment with school goals.  The PTO membership then votes on which proposals to approve, normally via e-voting.  We strongly encourage you to take part in the voting process.  We value your voice in deciding how PTO funds will be allocated for the benefit of our community.

The Visiting Artists Program brings artists of all genres, including writing, music, and the visual and performing arts, to AAS in order to work with and inspire our students of all ages. The program focuses on interaction with the students rather than simply performing for them, although performances may be a part of an artist's schedule.

You can type in the pdf, print it out and return it, along with original receipts, to the PTO Exchange or the PTO mailbox in the administrative offices.
