AAS HS students Dorian, Jan, and Ofek created an anti-bullying video. Below are their reflections and rationale.
We have created an anti-bullying video in order to spread awareness of that significant issue. The video expresses our ideas in a very metaphorical and creative way, our work can have many interpretations, however, all of them convey a similar idea built on the same principles.
Even though bullying is not a huge problem specifically in our school, it is essential to keep in mind that bullying can take many different forms. It can be social, verbal or physical. It is important to remember that bullying can occur in your future workplace and this video is here to provide you with one possible scenario that may happen. Hopefully, you will learn from the storyline of this video on how to recognize signs of bullying and how to react in case of it. It is crucial to put yourself in someone else’s shoes before you decide to say something, use your empathy and help other people with problems that they simply can’t handle by themselves. In conclusion, Jokes are jokes only when everybody laughs at the end.
"Making this video was a very interesting and educational experience. We learned a lot of technical and creative aspects of moviemaking. We recommend the school establishes this as a program, engaging students in contributing to the community, as well as learning useful skills for the future through animation and moviemaking"
