Student Videos
AAS HS students Dorian, Jan, and Ofek created an anti-bullying video. Below are their reflections and rationale.
We have created an anti-bullying video in order to spread awareness of that significant issue. The video expresses our ideas in a very metaphorical and creative way, our work can have many interpretations, however, all of them convey a similar idea built on the same principles.
Even though bullying is not a huge problem specifically in our school, it is essential to keep in mind that bullying can take many different forms. It can be social, verbal or physical. It is important to remember that bullying can occur in your future workplace and this video is here to provide you with one possible scenario that may happen. Hopefully, you will learn from the storyline of this video on how to recognize signs of bullying and how to react in case of it. It is crucial to put yourself in someone else’s shoes before you decide to say something, use your empathy and help other people with problems that they simply can’t handle by themselves. In conclusion, Jokes are jokes only when everybody laughs at the end.
HS CAS Project 70th Anniversary
"Making this video was a very interesting and educational experience. We learned a lot of technical and creative aspects of moviemaking. We recommend the school establishes this as a program, engaging students in contributing to the community, as well as learning useful skills for the future through animation and moviemaking"
- Xueting and Manwi, AAS HS students and creators of this CAS project video
IB Economics Instagram Channel
One former, and three current AAS HS students are responsible for creating and managing an IB Economics Instagram Channel called @IB-conomist
"We chose the topic of economics not only because of our interest but also because econ is a popular subject with the high school students of AAS. Our selling point is that our content is easy to understand, and we mix the explanation of econ terms into the explanation of specific issues. We started it as a CAS project, but at this point, we are going beyond CAS requirements because we want to see the account grow. This project is valuable to us because of the econ knowledge and social media management experience we gain."
