Kindergarten students may be signed up for an after school club once a week. Students in Grades 1-5 may sign up for one, two, or three clubs per week. 1. If a student misses an activity without permission of the instructor, s/he may be removed from the class and replaced with a child on the waiting list.

2. The student should arrive to the activity on time.

3, A parent or guardian must collect the student promptly at the end of the activity period.

4. Participation in the school-sponsored activities is a privilege.

5. Groups meet from 15:30-16:30 on their designated day(s).

Penguin Aquatics

Penguin Aquatics programs give students the opportunity to learn to swim, become more comfortable and confident in and around the water and have fun. After School Splash and Deep End Water Games and Swim Club are all examples of the programs that lead to healthy active lifestyles and encourage lifelong learning. All ES students will have their swim level assessed during their PE classes each year, and this assessment will help families choose which aquatic programs are appropriate for each child. Parents will need to register for each session. For all activities in the pool, demand is high and space is limited. We will do our best to accommodate everyone; thank you in advance for your understanding.

ES Swim Club
Elementary school swimmers interested in this program must demonstrate freestyle (with side breathing) and backstroke for a minimum of 25 meters and be able to swim approximately 1000 meters during a 90-minute practice. The focus of the program is stroke technique, having fun and improving endurance while preparing for swim competitions.

ES Stroke Development
Elementary school swimmers interested in this program must demonstrate freestyle (with side breathing) and backstroke for a minimum of 25 meters for each stroke. The focus of this program is swim club preparation. Swimmers unable to meet this requirement are invited to join the Saturday Learn to Swim Program.

ES Deep End Water Games
This program is open to all ES swimmers Level 3 and above.  Swimmers are required to be confident in deep water.

Pre-K through Grade 1 Water Games
This program is for Kindergarten and first graders for the first three sessions while the Pre-K students will be invited to attend the last part of the year. This program focuses on the swimmer becoming more comfortable and confident in the water through a variety of instructor-supervised water activities and games.  Swimmers will swim in the shallow pool only. Please note that it is the parents’ responsibility to arrange transport to and from the pool and to help with their swimmers getting changed.
