Stroke Development

Elementary school swimmers interested in this program must demonstrate freestyle (with side breathing) and backstroke for a minimum of 25 meters for each stroke and 1000 meters over the course of the hour long practice. The focus of this program is swim club preparation, however swimmers must successfully complete the evaluation. Swimmers unable to meet this requirement are invited to join the Saturday Learn to Swim Program. Prior to registering for Stroke Development, candidates should pass the evaluation process. PreK-1 Water Games

Swimmers will swim in the shallow pool only. During this activity children discover the water in a variety of different approaches and get prepared for the big pool. They focus on floats, blowing bubbles, kicking, swimming with a noodle and preparing to feel confident in the deep water. Please note that it is the parents’ responsibility to arrange transport to and from the pool and to help with their swimmers getting changed. The program starts at 15:45 till 16:30, but kids should be ready to change at 15:30.

Deep End Water Games

Focuses on swimmers becoming more confident in the water through a variety of instructor-supervised activities and games. Swimmers will swim in the deep end of the pool only. Open to all ES swimmers Level 3 and above. Swimmers are required to be confident in deep water, since swimmers will be using different strokes, practicing diving and other skills. Please note that it is the parents’ responsibility to arrange transport to and from the pool and to help with their swimmers getting changed.
