🎁 Taganka Foundation: "Thank You!"
Last December the AAS students and members of AAS community donated over 190,000 rubles to help Taganka Foundation kids meet Santa Claus and have New Year celebrations.
The role of Santa Claus and the Snow Maiden were taken on by older teenagers- participants of teenagers` club T-Club. They completed a course of training for a month and have successfully coped with this mission.
During two and a half weeks from December 14 to December 30 teenagers went to congratulate children every day and held small parties for them. At the same time they continued to study in their schools and colleges. 10 teenagers (5 couples: Santa Claus and Snow Maiden) were involved. Adult volunteers helped too.
Thank you to all students who supported Taganka Foundation and made the miracle of New Year celebrations happen!

It's so wonderful to have our courageous and caring students back on campus. Here are a few photos from the recent days of Loving Learning @ AAS.
📖 Literary Magazine | Issue 2/4
The Literary Magazine serves to spread, cultivate and popularize knowledge and skills related to creative writing, digital design, and arts among the AAS High School community.
This second installment of the four-part series - the brand new experimental format the students chose to present the LitMag to their audience - is titled Honour and explores this ideal from various points of view.

🧑🎤 Singing for the Unsung Heroes
The HS Drawing class (Grades 9 and 10) participates in the Unsung Hero Project each semester. Students are asked to nominate individuals at AAS who go above and beyond for our community but may not receive public recognition of their efforts.
While our students recognized many deserving individuals with thoughtful praise, it was Ellie Kupchik and Ron Schnell who received the most nominations this fall. Needless to say, this process was slightly more challenging during distance learning and the students worked very hard to make this project happen.
Singing for our Unsung Heroes are our AAS Choir students.
🏅 Matteo's Splits Journey
My first time trying to do middle splits was June 7, 2020, before then I never did any stretching for middle splits and thought they could never be achieved as I was never naturally flexible...
...This is my 7 month self taught journey...
🎞 Animation Project
Grade 6 Art students created animations using either a flipbook or the digital program Piskel. They've also created story arcs for their animations that included a beginning that introduces us to a character in an uncomfortable situation, a middle where there is a drama or conflict, and an end where that conflict is resolved and the character grows or learns something.
I can use concepts of story design
to create a character arc and story,
then turn my story into either
a digital or paper animation.
Many students were able to experiment with digital animations and create their own characters, who were facing an uncomfortable situation, some were able to dabble with Piskel and create the beginning of a story; some students went beyond and used other apps and programs to create more advanced animations!
