The AAS curriculum is defined by three distinct components, the specific learning targets which set what we want our students to be able to understand, know, do and be; more simply put, the WHATs of learning; the practices and tools used to determine if the students have achieved the learning targets and expectations, more simply put, the HOW WE KNOWs of learning; and the methodologies used to instruct and engage students to ensure their success; more simply put, the HOWs of learning.
Our framework for learning, called Learning at AAS, is a philosophical stance, the set of program and components, and an essential lens for determining, developing and enriching the transformational processes of teaching and learning that optimize our students’ experiences.
